Project
Design & Construct

Sibling House prioritises maximum reuse of its existing base structure, with lighter, insulation heavy construction on the upper level, and a high use of thermal mass on the lower levels. This in turn allows the design to capitalise on earth temperature coupling and the heat stack effect.

Sibling House is the expansion of a cavity brick 1 bedroom premises to a 4 bedroom family home. The project involves partial demolition of the existing premises, with the retention of foundations, footprint and select walls, along with the recycling of bricks and hardwood.
